Nueve arrestados con más de 2.000 litros de combustible en una playa del Algarve

La Policía Marítima de Portugal, a través del Comando Local de Policía Marítima de Portimão y la Unidad Central de Investigación Criminal, junto con la Guardia Nacional Republicana, mediante el Comando Territorial de Faro, realizaron este lunes, 14 de septiembre, una operación conjunta que resultó en la detención de nueve individuos, cuyas edades oscilan entre los 17 y 29 años, por su implicación en actividades de narcotráfico, así como en la incautación de 100 bidones de combustible en el municipio de Albufeira. Esta actividad relacionada con el petaqueo ha sido severamente golpeada en esa región de la Península Ibérica en las últimas semanas.
En respuesta a un aviso recibido de un ciudadano, la Policía Marítima y la Guardia Nacional Republicana desplegaron recursos en la zona y llevaron a cabo una operación coordinada en las cercanías de la playa de Falésia.
Durante el desarrollo de la operación, los agentes de la Guardia Nacional Republicana arrestaron a nueve individuos considerados sospechosos de colaborar con el narcotráfico, además de incautar un vehículo, cinco documentos de matriculación de automóviles, tres llaves de distintos vehículos, un dron y cinco teléfonos móviles.
La Policía Marítima se encargó de la incautación de los 100 bidones de combustible hallados en la playa, cuya carga total supera los 2.000 kilos.
Se están llevando a cabo los trámites procesales pertinentes, en colaboración con la Fiscalía, para presentar a los detenidos ante la autoridad judicial correspondiente y definir los pasos a seguir en el procedimiento.

The Maritime Police of Portugal, through the Local Command of Maritime Police of Portimão and the Central Unit of Criminal Investigation, along with the National Republican Guard, via the Territorial Command of Faro, carried out a joint operation on Monday, September 14, resulting in the arrest of nine individuals, aged between 17 and 29, for their involvement in drug trafficking activities, as well as the seizure of 100 fuel drums in the municipality of Albufeira. This activity related to drug trafficking has been severely impacted in that region of the Iberian Peninsula in recent weeks.
In response to a tip received from a citizen, the Maritime Police and the National Republican Guard deployed resources in the area and conducted a coordinated operation near Falésia beach.
During the operation, officers from the National Republican Guard arrested nine individuals considered suspects of collaborating with drug trafficking, in addition to seizing a vehicle, five vehicle registration documents, three keys for different vehicles, a drone, and five mobile phones.
The Maritime Police handled the seizure of the 100 fuel drums found on the beach, with a total weight exceeding 2,000 kilos.
The relevant legal proceedings are being carried out in collaboration with the Public Prosecutor's Office to present the detainees before the corresponding judicial authority and define the next steps in the procedure.
