La Fuerza de Tarea Integrada contra el Crimen Organizado en Río de Janeiro llevó a cabo este jueves la detención del principal sospechoso en la Operación Libertatis II, que fue iniciada en marzo de 2025. Su captura se efectuó en una vivienda situada en Cabo Frío, en un operativo que recibió el respaldo del Servicio de Policía Aérea. El individuo detenido es Adilson Oliveira Coutinho Filho, conocido popularmente como Adilsinho. Este operativo es considerado el más significativo en esa región de Brasil desde el ataque al Comando Vermelho ocurrido en diciembre del año anterior.
El arrestado se encontraba en fuga debido a una orden de captura activa emitida por el Tribunal Federal. Es uno de los delincuentes más buscados del país, acusado de haber ordenado asesinatos y requerido por el Tribunal Estatal. Además, es considerado responsable de la red de apuestas ilegales denominada «jogo do bicho» en Río de Janeiro. A esto se suma que, según la Policía Federal, se le investiga como el mayor productor y distribuidor de cigarrillos falsificados en el estado, así como de tabaco de contrabando.
El detenido fue trasladado a la Superintendencia Regional de la Policía Federal en Río de Janeiro para realizar las formalidades pertinentes de su arresto y, posteriormente, será enviado al sistema penitenciario estatal.
La prensa brasileña informa que un oficial de la Policía Militar, Diego Darribada Rebello de Lima, quien estaba a cargo de su seguridad, también fue detenido durante el operativo.
Además de estar implicado en la ordenación de múltiples asesinatos, las autoridades le atribuyen la creación de una fábrica de tabaco ilegal, donde se encontraron a 19 ciudadanos paraguayos laborando en condiciones similares a la esclavitud. Asimismo, se le ha asociado con el patrocinio de equipos deportivos de la región con el objetivo de ganarse la confianza de los habitantes de Río.

The Integrated Task Force Against Organized Crime in Rio de Janeiro carried out the arrest of the main suspect in Operation Libertatis II this Thursday, which was initiated in March 2025. His capture took place in a residence located in Cabo Frio, in an operation that received support from the Air Police Service. The individual detained is Adilson Oliveira Coutinho Filho, popularly known as Adilsinho. This operation is considered the most significant in that region of Brazil since the attack on Comando Vermelho that occurred in December of the previous year.
The arrested individual was on the run due to an active arrest warrant issued by the Federal Court. He is one of the most wanted criminals in the country, accused of ordering murders and wanted by the State Court. Additionally, he is considered responsible for the illegal betting network known as "jogo do bicho" in Rio de Janeiro. Furthermore, according to the Federal Police, he is being investigated as the largest producer and distributor of counterfeit cigarettes in the state, as well as for smuggling tobacco.
The detainee was transferred to the Regional Superintendency of the Federal Police in Rio de Janeiro to carry out the necessary formalities of his arrest and will subsequently be sent to the state penitentiary system.
Brazilian press reports that a Military Police officer, Diego Darribada Rebello de Lima, who was in charge of his security, was also arrested during the operation.
In addition to being implicated in the ordering of multiple murders, authorities attribute to him the creation of an illegal tobacco factory, where 19 Paraguayan citizens were found working under conditions similar to slavery. He has also been associated with sponsoring sports teams in the region in order to gain the trust of the residents of Rio.
